Our Staff

Teresa Jackson

Teresa has been employed with Holiday Travel off and on since she was 15 years old, about half her life! Travel is “in her blood” and she’s had a hard time trying to get away from it. She’s like a boomerang, coming back to her home. She and her husband, Chad, are now homeowners in Lufkin so they will be here for a long while.

Teresa has traveled the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe, as well as cruises to Alaska and the Mexican Riviera.

Teresa loves to travel. She loves to try new foods and experience new cultures. “I think it’s neat to see how people live in other places; not just exotic places like Greece or Israel, but even just New York or Hollywood,.” She says. “There’s a lot to discover outside of my box. And I enjoy helping others make discoveries, too.”

Teresa also loves her job as a travel agent because she invests in her clients. “I like to hear their stories when they come back; especially when they are excited and ready to start planning again!”

Lisa Loya

Lisa has been with Holiday Travel since 2002. When she came to us she was the person in her family who planned their family trips and her love for helping others helped her transition into a first class travel agent. She loves to cruise and she loves Mexico, even though she’s not a beach person! Besides seeing new places, Lisa loves to travel for the new experiences. She was the first in the office to zip line in Puerto Vallarta and she’s also braved Sting Ray City in Cayman Islands and snorkeled in Curacao.

One of the things Lisa loves about her job is the actual planning of the trips. “Planning is exciting to me. Putting all the pieces together and the anticipation of the trip is almost as fun as going, Lisa says. “Almost! Nothing beats being there but I love to plan a trip when I know my customer is going to have a wonderful time.” Lisa does a lot of group cruises, Disney and of course, Mexico.

Marty Chalker

Marty is our part time administrative assistant. She helps keep our office stocked with brochures and supplies, which can be an arduous job in itself. She also helps us with our trip planning by doing research for us, especially during the heavy booking season. She loves to work with the public. Marty is a friendly face on the phone and at the front door. We love her because she keeps us organized.

Travel is fun for Marty. She loves the old architecture, especially in Europe. “The beautiful scenery sometimes reminds me of home in East Texas,” Marty says. She’s been to Germany, Italy, England, Scotland, France, as well as a few jaunts through Mexico and the Caribbean. If money were no object she’d love to go to Switzerland, Austria and back to Germany. Marty is the go-to person for train reservations and complicated European itineraries. She loves to research the logistics of traveling. “It’s like a puzzle, putting all the pieces together to make a memorable journey,” she says.

Nancy Mize

Nancy is the owner, along with her husband, Ron, since 1994. Her love for travel began while she was a student in high school while living in Caracas, Venezuela, and helped plan her senior class trip.

“I love everything about travel,” she says. “Well, not so much all the hassles of the airport, but everything else.” She has seen the travel industry change drastically over the years and has had to readjust and redefine Holiday Travel several times in order to keep the business thriving.

“Our first priority is to our clients. Each vacation and each trip are special and we try to find as close to perfect as we can,” she says. “We’re not a cookie-cutter agency because our clients are not cookie-cutter people.”

Her specialty is handling groups. She’s directed groups to Italy, England, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel, and for many years, youth ski groups.

“Every place I go is a surprise to me,” she says. ”I’ve never been on a cruise I didn’t like or a place I didn’t enjoy.” Nancy feels that every place has something unique about it and that there’s something fun to see or do no matter where it is. “The more I travel the longer my bucket list becomes,” she says. “I’d say Australia and Antartica are at the top of my list right now since I just went to Israel. And Macchu Picchu is up there, too.!”

The world is a big place!  Get out there and see it, and let Holiday Travel help you get there!
